Terms of Service

Last updated: May 5, 2025

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Walkgate application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

Walkgate is a step-gating app blocker for iOS. It uses Apple HealthKit to read your daily step count and Apple's Screen Time framework (FamilyControls / ManagedSettings) to block designated apps until your daily step goal is reached.

Walkgate requires iOS 16 or later and an iPhone with a compatible version of Apple Health. An Apple Watch is not required.

Gate Pro Subscription

Pricing

Gate Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription at the following prices:

  • Weekly: $1.49 per week
  • Annual: $29.99 per year (approximately $2.50 per month)

Prices may vary by region and are displayed in your local App Store currency.

Free Trial

New subscribers are eligible for a 3-day free trial. Payment will not be charged during the trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the subscription will automatically begin and your Apple ID will be charged.

Auto-Renewal

Gate Pro subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.

Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID Account Settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access continues until the period ends.

Refunds

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store. Refund requests must be submitted to Apple directly through reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.

Required Permissions

Walkgate requires the following device permissions to function:

  • · Apple Health (HealthKit) — read-only access to step count data
  • · Screen Time (FamilyControls) — required to block and unblock apps
  • · Notifications — optional, used for goal reminders and trial notifications

Denying these permissions will prevent the app from functioning as described. Screen Time permission, once granted, can be managed in iOS Settings.

Acceptable Use

You may use Walkgate for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • · Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • · Attempt to circumvent or bypass the app blocking mechanism
  • · Use the App for any unlawful purpose

Disclaimer of Warranties

Walkgate is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the App will function without interruption or error, or that it will achieve any specific health or productivity outcomes. Step counting accuracy depends on your device hardware and Apple Health data. App blocking is subject to iOS system limitations and may not function if Screen Time is disabled at the system level.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Walkgate and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or this page. Continued use of Walkgate after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
